Young Carers Mental health

It is OK and normal for young carers to sometimes feel angry or sad, resentful or guilty about their caring role. But if your caring responsibilities become overwhelming it can negatively affect your mental heath.

The Carers Trust did a survey earlier this year which showed that over one third of young carers experienced widespread problems with their mental well-being.

If you need someone to talk to, call our Advice Line on 0800 083 1148 for free, independent and confidential support.  Just talking to an adviser may help you feel less alone.

We also like the new SAM app (Self-help for Anxiety Management) developed by UWE (the University of West England) which has some great tips and techniques to reduce anxiety.

Or check out the Young Minds website to find out ways you can look after yourself.
